What is one type of record that an injured victim and their lawyer need to get in order for the injured victim to successfully bring a serious injury negligence security claim against a defendant property owner or manager?

One of the key critical pieces of evidence that the injured victim needs to get is prior crime, prior criminal activity records for that property alone. In Maryland and most other jurisdictions, it is critical that when an injured victim is bringing a negligent security claim, they need to show that there is legitimate and substantial previous criminal activity that occurred at the property.

This is very easy to get. What the injured victim and the lawyer can usually simply do is subpoena prior crime records from the local police department.

For example, if somebody's severely injured at an event that occurred in Baltimore County and wants to bring a negligent security claim, the injured victim and their lawyer could easily subpoena the Baltimore County Police Department for all prior crime records three years before the date of the incident from that property itself.

A lot of times, the police departments are very easy to work with when it comes to prior crime records. But this is something that injured victims usually don't understand that they have to get, but are is very easy to obtain.
