Why is it so important for an injured victim to ensure that the property owner or manager has a documented incident report the day of an incident at the property?
The answer is very simple.
If the injured victim is seriously injured on a property, maybe negligent security or slip and fall, and wants to later sue the property owner or manager for a premises liability personal injury claim, it will go a very long way proving to a judge or jury that if they make an incident report that is signed off on by the injured victim, the property owner or manager, and given to the property owner or manager the day of the incident,it goes a very long way in demonstrating that how the injured victim describes the incident happening actually happened.
I've seen too many times that potential clients call me, saying they want to hire a property owner or manager for premises liability, but they didn't ensure that the owner or manager has a documented incident report of how the incident happened.
It is so important to prove these types of cases to ensure that the property owner or manager has notice of the incident and how it occurred on the day of the incident or within a couple of days after.
